The Sullivan Middle School Band is a comprehensive program consisting of over 100 students across 6th-8th grade. Outside of our daily classes, students can join extra ensembles, such as Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble to expand their musicianship. Our students consistently place in regional and state level adjudicated events. Students have the opportunity to perform in multiple concerts and participate in trips, such as our Dollywood and Carowinds trips we are taking in the Spring!

Director
of Bands
Ms. Traylor is currently the Director of Bands at Sullivan Middle School in Rock Hill, SC where she has taught at since 2025. Before coming to SMS, she served as the Music Teacher and Band Director at Hickory Grove-Sharon Elementary School and Assistant Director of Bands at York Comprehensive High School, both in York School District One.

Ms. Traylor holds a Bachelor in Music and Bachelors in Science - Music Education, as well as a certificate in Commercial Music and Audio Production from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. She is currently completing a Masters in Music Education from Boston University and anticipated to graduate in December of 2026.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Traylor holds membership with Sigma Alpha Iota, Kappa Kappa Psi, Women Band Directors International, and the SCBDA, where she serves on the Solo and Ensemble Committee. Outside of school, Ms. Traylor enjoys enjoys sewing, reading, and playing Minecraft.
